Thank you for your interest in this website. I am Tokugawa Iehiro, 19th head of the Tokugawa Shogun house. As the president of the Tokugawa Memorial Foundation and through my writing and lectures, I have been introducing and explaining the civilization of Tokugawa Japan, with the belief that I could present to my readers and audience a more accurate and vivid picture of Tokugawa Ieyasu (the first Tokugawa Shogun) and Japanese history. I also pray that such efforts contribute to the appreciation of the long post WWII peace of Japan, as well as to nudge the world in a more pacifist direction.
